My role

I created Saqua Vibes from scratch, from concept to production: I illustrated the prints, developed the identity and labels, prepared the print files, researched suppliers, closed quotes, built the tech packs and followed the production of the pieces.

The brand comes from Saquarema, where I live, and steers clear of the tropical cliché: real women in the sea, the typography of the town’s signs and the palette of Rio’s coast. The t-shirts gained popularity among a specific audience, and the brand now partners with Coletivo Baleia, a collective of doulas in Saquarema, and sells at events.

Process

  1. 01Concept

A brand about Saquarema seen from the inside, by someone who lives here.

  2. 02Prints

My own illustrations turned into prints for each piece.

  3. 03Identity

Logo, colours, labels and the “support local artists” tag.

  4. 04Suppliers

Researching apparel makers and printers, samples and quotes.

  5. 05Production

Print-ready files, tech packs, proofs and following each piece through production.

  6. 06Launch and sales

Beach photo shoot, Instagram content, a partnership with Coletivo Baleia and sales at events.
